I was on this job and the Electrician didn't do the first bonding coat of plaster after chasing out the walls for new sockets but he did supply these Socket Safety Shields which were brilliant for getting filled right up close and even behind the faceplate of the socket.
Once filler or plaster is dry then simply unscrew and pull off then screw the faceplate back on tight to the wall.
Genius.
