The Holy Panchakshar "NA MA SI VA YA" Mantra | Energize The five great Elements in The Human Body

The Shiv Panchakshar Stotram is a revered Hindu hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva, composed by the philosopher Adi Shankara. It is a five-stanza (śloka) devotional poem that honors the five syllables of the sacred mantra Om Namah Shivaya — Na, Ma, Shi, Va, Ya — collectively known as the Panchakshara (five letters).

Each stanza is dedicated to one syllable and describes a different divine attribute of Shiva:

Na: To the one wearing a serpent garland, the three-eyed Lord, adorned with sacred ash, the great Lord, eternal, pure, and clothed in space.

Ma: To the one anointed with Mandakini river water and sandal paste, the lord of Nandi and the Pramathas, worshipped with mandara and other flowers.

Shi: To Shiva, whose lotus feet are worshipped by Gauri’s face-lotuses, with sun and moon as eyes, embodying the essence of all Vedas.

Va: To the one worshipped by sages like Vasistha and Gautama, the crown revered by gods, wearing an elephant hide with the moon on his forehead.

Ya: To the embodiment of sacrifice, with matted hair, eternal and pure, bearing the Pinaka bow, and lord of all beings.

The stotram is believed to energize the five great elements in the human body: Prithvi (earth), Jala (water), Agni (fire), Vāyu (air), and Ākāsha (space). Chanting it is considered highly auspicious, said to bring spiritual upliftment, peace, and liberation, with the promise that one who recites it before Shiva attains Shiva’s abode and experiences eternal joy.
