Was “Hebrew” just a language… or a people group?
Most viewers assume the word “Hebrew” in ancient texts only refers to speech.
That’s not what the Greek sources show.
In this video I go straight to Second Temple Greek literature — Testament of Joseph and Joseph and Aseneth — and read the passages line-by-line. We find:
• “a young Hebrew from Canaan”
• “the God of the Hebrews”
• “the land of the Hebrews”
• Hebrews contrasted with Egyptians
• Hebrews trafficked as a population
Those are ethnic categories — not linguistic ones.
No theology.
No modern politics.
Just primary texts.
If you’ve been told that “Hebrew” simply means a language, this episode forces a rethink.
