33. I love sailing Greece | South Peloponnese | Sailing Greece

Описание: This week on Kawai we leave the Ionian Island of Zakynthos and sail to the Greece main land. We sail to Katakolon where we catch the train to Olympia, the birth place to the Olympic Games. Trace relives the spirit of the ancient games and beats me in a sprinting race.

We then set sail and head further south into the Peloponnese visiting Pylos and Navarino Bay where we check out the old fort of Navarino and one of Greece's iconic beaches, Voidikoilia Beach. During our hike we stumble across Nestor's cave, where Greek God Hermes was said to have hid the 50 cattle he stole from Apollo.

We also have a low key celebration for when we first met 19 years ago and have a beer at the local beach bar. This is just the beginning of our sail around the Southern Peloponnese and we have loved it so far.

Next week we visit Methoni, Kalamata and many more beautiful locations.

About us:

Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai.

We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia.
