This second video builds on Chemistry 1 and focuses on the algorithm choices for estimating molecular ground-state energies.
We cover:
• NISQ approaches: VQE and ADAPT-VQE (hybrid, measurement-heavy, practical today)
• Fault-tolerant approaches: Quantum Phase Estimation (QPE)
• QPE with trotterization (precision with a depth vs discretization tradeoff)
• QPE with qubitization (no Trotter step-size error and best-known asymptotic scaling, but needs block-encoding)
The goal is a clear, step-by-step comparison of what is realistic now and what becomes relevant later.
