In Gen V Season 2 Episode 2, tensions explode at Godolkin University as the truth behind Project Odessa begins to unravel. Marie returns to campus via a staged TikTok image campaign to reclaim her narrative and fend off Vought propaganda. Emma Meyer and Polarity infiltrate the God U archives and uncover birth certificates tied to Project Odessa—documents bearing “Deceased” stamps, except one: Marie Moreau is marked as the lone survivor. While Emma digests the revelation (“Marie is Odessa”), she accidentally triggers a size transformation, escalating her powers. On campus, Dean Cipher launches a brutal Hero Optimization Seminar. Students must face Vikor (a hulking enforcer) to push a button and escape. Many fall — only Jordan and Marie survive, with Marie gruesomely squeezing Vikor’s heart. Cate Dunlap awakens in the hospital—but her powers malfunction. In a surreal scene, she mentally manipulates a nurse to attack another, uttering “Emma” in delirium.
Sam Riordan, haunted by hallucinations of his deceased brother Luke, confronts Emma. He begins to suspect the trio’s role in Cate’s attack, while Cipher seizes the narrative and casts the Starlighters as scapegoats for campus violence. Vought International’s propaganda machine spins the incident. Dogknott is used to eliminate a scapegoat (a human Starlighter) and shield Cipher’s agenda.

The episode ends with Marie grappling with her identity: she realizes she may be the original subject and surviving artifact of Project Odessa. Meanwhile, Cipher visits Cate’s hospital room, demanding answers: “What did you get into?”
