Greetings! In today's two-parter we're breaking down Nowhere Man from The Beatles' Rubber Soul.
I'll talk about the background, including some important context of popular music and culture in 1965 (think pot, Dylan and The Byrds). We'll hear some of John's reflections of writing this classic song.
Of course, we'll break the song down top to bottom. All the chords, lyrics and melody. I have timestamps below if you wanted to jump right into that!
In Part 2 we break down isolated tracks (vocals, bass line, drums). Full notation and analysis of the vocals as well as notation of the bass line.
*SPECIAL SHOUT-OUT to two phenomenal YouTube channels - Rock Band Stems and Isotracks. I pulled from Isotracks for the vocals and Rock Band Stems for the bass line and Ringo's drumming. You can go down quite the rabbit hole in those channels so go check them out if you like to hear isolated tracks like I do (maybe a little too much!). I'll definitely use them again for upcoming Beatle breakdowns.
