COLD CHAIN IS CRUCIAL! Perfect Storm, Vocation New England Pale Ale beer review

Описание: The footie's on. Wimbledon is down to the final 16. Even on the rare occasion there's no sport showing, the weather is glorious. If you want to chill in a beer garden right now, you're facing a perfect storm. Fortunately, with Vocation you can chill out with a Perfect Storm in the serenity of your own back garden.

What is Perfect Storm? It's a New England pale ale from Yorkshire brewers Vocation. It's made with Galaxy and Simcoe hops, and brewed with wheat and oats. It's suitable for vegans, but not for those who can't eat gluten.

What does Perfect Storm taste like? It smells phenomenal: fruity, juicy and inviting. Pineapple and sweet orange notes give way to grapefruit and biscuit driness. This smells like an excellent beer. Fortunately, in my case it tasted like one too, with juicy tangerine flavour to start and more dry grapefruit to finish.

Not everyone agrees. Others have reviewed Perfect Storm as imperfect because it's unbalanced or because it's too bitter. My theory is that this is down to where you buy your beer. A beer specialist will keep its hoppiest beers chilled, where they'll stay at their best for longest. A supermarket doesn't give a flying fig; they'll leave craft beer in an overheated lorry for hours. If you're lucky enough to get one of those batches, the beer quality won't be up to much.
