Torrential rain. Safety car start. An amateur driver thrown into conditions he’d never experienced before.
This race at Snetterton wasn’t about pace — it was about surviving the storm.
After the summer break, Friday testing was about finding rhythm again — and we immediately matched our previous pace. The car felt right. The team felt settled. But qualifying didn’t go our way, with traffic leaving us P8 and forcing some honest, constructive conversations.
Then everything changed.
Moments before the start of our first 90-minute race of the season, torrential rain flooded the circuit. With no time to rethink strategy, we committed to wet tyres and sent Andrew out for his first ever proper race stint in extreme wet conditions.
What followed was controlled chaos.
A safety car start.
Visibility disappearing.
Grip vanishing.
A red flag as conditions worsened.
Andrew kept it calm and brought the car to pitstop in P6. From there, we attacked.
Lap by lap, we built momentum in conditions that punished hesitation. We climbed into the class lead — and then beyond it.
P1 in class.
P3 overall.
Ahead of significantly more capable machinery.
Andrew’s first win. ROWE Driver of the Day. And a weekend that shifted the belief inside this team.
This episode captures the full story — the tension, the radio calls, the official commentary, and the final debrief holding the trophies.
