Описание: The International Cocoa Collection of the CATIE (Centro Agronómico Tropical de Investigación y Enseñanza) in Turrialba, Costa Rica, is one of the world’s most important genetic repositories for cocoa.

Established in 1944, the collection conserves over 1,300 cocoa accessions as living clones, along with related species of the genus Theobroma. It received international status in 1978 and was incorporated in 2006 into the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), ensuring its role as a global public good.
