QUILT a BOOK/ JOURNAL COVER with appliqué flowers, beginner friendly tutorial

Описание: This boho style quilted book / journal cover is easier to make than you might think! (And wouldn't it make a lovely gift for a friend!)
You can turn a bunch of your favourite scraps into a new piece of fabric and use this for the cover or go for something else from your stash - and if you don't want to do a buttonhole, you can just tuck under the closure and that will be fine, too!

What you'll need:
woven fabric for the outside (cotton or linen, for example)
iron on interfacing (I used heavy weight for the structure this gives, but you could add a layer of medium or light weight interfacing to both the top fabric & the lining if you don't have heavy weight interfacing. It will make for a softer cover, but will still work)
wadding / batting
woven fabric for the lining
woven fabric for the pockets
a length of ribbon as the page marker
a length of woven fabric (I used torn linen plus a pink cotton) for the closure
button
coordinating threads (all purpose polyester or cotton)
