Drummers have their rudiments—those fundamental sticking patterns that form the building blocks of drumming technique. But what about classical guitarists? While scales are often the go-to exercises for developing finger strength and dexterity, they don’t quite serve the same foundational role as rudiments do for drummers. Today, I'm going to introduce you to a set of "rudiments" specifically designed for the right hand. Performing at Carnegie Hall in New York was a goal I had from the beginning. I knew that the excitement of the situation could make my right-hand unstable. I used these exercises to dial in on my stability and accuracy for the performance. Let me tell you... they're simple but they work.
