But who is Arkhan the Black?
Once a mortal sorcerer and the most faithful disciple of Nagash, Arkhan was gifted with immortality in death — his soul forever bound to his master’s will. Known as The Mortarch of Sacrament, he commands vast undead armies and channels the raw essence of death magic, serving Nagash with unwavering devotion.

In the novel The Return of Nagash, Arkhan plays a central role in the grim events of the End Times. When the world falls into chaos, it is Arkhan who dares to undertake the impossible — the resurrection of Nagash himself. Alongside the treacherous vampire Manfred von Carstein, he journeys across war-torn lands to reclaim the artifacts needed for his master’s return.
