How to use an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker. We compare different quick soaking / precooking methods for dried pinto beans in an Instant Pot electric pressure cooker, and compare the results to a traditional long cold water soak. The purpose of this video is not to debate the merits of presoaking or precooking beans, but is to compare methods if you want to do so. We also show how to use the pot and review the three pressure release methods recommended in the Instant Pot instruction manual. Actual start-to-finish cooking times are included. The start of this comparison are the directions on the Instant Pot website, and we make variations from there.
