They propose a quest to Tantalus, who surprisingly agrees—but gives the honor to Clarisse La Rue. Later that night, wandering the beach in frustration, Percy meets a "stranger" (the god Hermes) who gives him two magical items: a bottle of multivitamins and a thermos that packs a punch. It’s time to go rogue.
