Season 1, Episode 4
(Featuring Donal Brophy)
It's time to dive deep into the life and loves of our beloved bicon, Virginia Woolf!
Through her sauciest letters, we reveal her long-term love affair (wait, is a lesbian affair ever NOT long-term?) with Vita Sackville-West, today a lesser-known author who was nevertheless London's leading bisexual sapphist in her own day.
Along the way, we'll also relive the pulse-quickening parties thrown by the Bloomsbury Set, a group of young intellectuals that Virginia Woolf had round to her house to talk about art, Modernism, and sometimes, semen.
Along with the likes of Lytton Strachey and her sister Vanessa Bell, Virginia was part of an artistic movement in Edwardian England that sought to break free from the repressive sexual norms of Victorian society.
These intrepid and middle-to-upper-middle class heroes were known for their avant-garde writing and thinking.
But today we will celebrate their contribution to the age-old British tradition of being really, really, ridiculously gay.
