This is a great feature if you want to hand your device over to your KID/FRIEND.

What is Screen Pinning/App Pinning?

Pin an app to the screen to PREVENT others from ACCESSING features outside of the pinned app.
When an APP IS PINNED, features such as calling and messaging are BLOCKED.

Before you hand over your phone to your KID/FRIEND, you can PIN THE APP the person wants to use.

By pinning the app, the person will have ACCESS to ONLY THAT APP and nothing else.

(NO ACCESS to multitasking, home screen, app drawer or anything else is blocked.)

Screen pinning/app pinning only allows ONE app to be used at a time.


When screen pinning is on, you'll see an option to ask for your PIN, pattern, or password before unpinning.



To enable PIN SCREEN, choose the right settings for your Android versions:

A) SETTINGS - SECURITY - SCREEN PINNING

B) SETTINGS - SECURITY or SECURITY & LOCATION - ADVANCED - TURN ON SCREEN PINNING.

C) SETTINGS - LOCK SCREEN AND SECURITY - OTHER SECURITY SETTINGS - PIN WINDOW

D) SETTINGS - BIOMETRIC AND SECURITY - OTHER SECURITY SETTINGS -
Under ADVANCED tap PIN WINDOWS

Select "Ask for PIN before unpinning" to enable it for increased security.



Pinning a screen on Android

Go to the app you want to pin.
Tap Overview  (the square key that brings the recent apps).
Swipe up to show the Pin . You’ll see it at the bottom right of your selected screen
Tap the Pin.

Or..

Select the Overview icon (the square in the black bar at the bottom of the screen), then tap the app you wish to pin.

( or swipe up find the app you want to pin, and tap its icon at the top)

Or..

Launch the app you want to pin / press the recent button
Tap the icon above the app and select PIN this app.


To UNPIN a screen:

Gesture navigation: Swipe up and hold.

Or

2-button navigation: Touch and hold Back and Home 

Or

3-button navigation: Touch and hold Back and Overview.

If you're asked for your PIN, pattern, or password, enter it.
