Описание:
Thin section of quartz sand during rotation of polarizer+analyzer pair.
The sand was collected on the left bank of Dnieper river in Kyiv on 6 May 2020, rinsed in concentrated solution of sodium hydroxide, embedded into UV curing glue for glass and sectioned in usual way. Thickness of the section is 0.16 mm.
The rotating lines show directions of transmission (thick one for polarizer, thin one for analyzer).
1) view without analyzer (identical to view in usual light),
2) view between crossed polarizers during rotation of polarizer+analyzer pair,
3) combined image with maximal brightness from all angles of rotation,
4) view without analyzer (identical to view in usual light).
