Gatorade's New Recovery Tech! Gatorade Gx Full Review (Part 1?)

Описание: Is Gatorade Innovating Again? Here's my review of their NEW recovery tech, the Gatorade Gx App, combined with the Gatorade Gx Pods and the new Sweat Patches (used to calculate your personalized sweat profile)

Gatorade has been working on this app for a while now. We saw some teasers of what they were up to with Sweat Patches at some endurance events over the last few years, but this is really their push to the broader market. They sent me some sample materials to test, and here are my thoughts:

First of all, I LOVE the idea. The execution could use some work, but it's still a relatively new product in the market so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and know that they will be fixing some of these things!

My biggest hope for this product is that they can package these insights into an API of some sort, and integrate with existing and dominant services like Strava and Garmin. It would be powerful to see recovery stats / recommendations powered by Gatorade! But their app leaves a bit to be desired. I'd say it isn't their strong suit. New recovery tech isn't necessarily easy to come by, I know I've spent a lot of time with Whoop so I have high hopes!

I did have some significant issues with the Sweat Patches (which are kind of the whole basis of the idea and smart recovery recommendations) I tried them twice on different workout types, but had issues both times (check the video for more detail)

The app itself is not the best UI, but it definitely did what it needed to do and gave me the recovery insight I needed, so I can't fault it too much!

All things considered, I thought it was a brilliant idea for new recovery tech, but with average execution. Gatorade has a long road ahead with this product, but I think the future is bright! I'm hoping to come out with a Part 2 of this review once they have made some updates!
