Hope Mansell Byway, near Drybrook.

This fun little lane certainly bested me! First it threw me in a rather large puddle, then we had to cut down a small tree across the byway, then the trees fought back and got me in the eye. All my own doing, firstly charging into an unknown puddle is never a good idea, especially whilst paired with inexperience and inability - my front wheel went into a rut and it stopped me dead, launching me into the handlebars and off the side of the bike. It definitely makes for an amusing watch! As for taking a branch to my eye, I have goggles but only tend to wear them on the road to keep the wind off and not what they’re intended for which is to protect against rocks, branches etc. Lesson learned as this was painful and left me with slightly blurred double vision for a few days following.
