After almost a year, the trolleybus safely returned to the streets of Vilnius. However, just one round after the start of the second half of the peak schedule, the first engine in the first section failed, forcing the trolleybus to end its service early.

Despite this, the event was historic: it was the first time an articulated trolleybus had run on route 9. Articulated trolleybuses had not been seen in Žirmūnai for almost 30 years.
