Atherfield to Whitwell - Isle of Wight Highways & Byways

Описание: Looking back at a drive from the summer of 2024. This drive starts in Atherfield and finishes in Whitwell.

You’ll start on Atherfield Road, joining Pyle Shute before turning onto Newman Lane. Next, you’ll turn onto Chale Street, leading you into Chale, where you’ll pass The Wight Mouse Inn and continue onto Blythe Shute. After that, you’ll continue onto Blackgang Road, passing the entrance to Blackgang Chine, the UK’s oldest family theme park, and the Blackgang Viewpoint car park, before heading into Niton. As you drive through Niton, you’ll go past Norris Family Grocers and take Chatfeild Road out towards Whitwell. Once in Whitwell, you’ll follow Kemming Road, passing the Church of St Mary and St Rhadegund, then turn around and head back down Kemming Road to take a right onto Bannock Road. You’ll head through the houses because of the roadworks diversions, turn onto Whitwell High Street, pass The White Horse Inn, the Isle of Wight’s oldest pub, and finish at Whitwell Garage.
