The International Space Station (ISS) is one of the brightest objects in the night sky. The space station orbits Earth about 16 times per day and can be easily seen with the naked eye from Earth if you know when and where to look up in the night sky.
Here’s how to use the free stargazing app Star Walk 2 to find and spot the International Space Station in the sky from Earth:

STEP 1: To know when the ISS will be passing over you, turn on the notifications for the upcoming astronomical events in the stargazing app Star Walk 2. To do it, tap the menu icon in the lower right corner of the screen, go to ‘Notifications’ and choose ‘ISS’. Make sure that location access and notifications are allowed in the settings of your device. You will receive a notification when the ISS is flying over.
STEP 1: Once you receive a notification, click on it, point your device up to the sky and follow the arrow on the screen. If the app does not show a live representation of the sky and does not follow your movements, tap the compass icon in the upper left corner of the screen to activate the Star Spotter function.
