Andhra Pradesh has unveiled a ₹3.32 lakh crore state budget with a strong emphasis on water security and capital expenditure. Around ₹14,000 crore has been earmarked for major irrigation works, including the flagship Polavaram Project, with a clear push to expand irrigation coverage in drought-prone Rayalaseema.

Additionally, nearly ₹4,000 crore has been allocated under the Jal Jeevan Mission to strengthen rural tap water access. The combined thrust signals a strategy that links agricultural productivity, rural stability, and household water security.
