WHY ARE DAILY RUNNING SHOES GETTING HEAVIER RATHER THAN LIGHTER?

Episode 2 looks at the strange phenomenon of new midsole tech being used in running shoes yet the ride is getting heavier and less forgiving.
Nike and Adidas are sticking with React and Lightstrike yet few people seem to be over the moon with their choice. The classic Pegasus is getting heavier year after year and is not winning any new champions.
Only ASICS seem to be getting new tech implementation just right in their daily use models.
