Описание: Yale Professor of Physics John Harris explains what scientists hope to discover with ALICE, one of four main experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN near Geneva, Switzerland. Along with the rest of the ALICE team, Harris, who heads the U.S. ALICE collaboration, is trying to recreate the first moments after the Big Bang, when the universe existed as an extremely hot, energetic "soup" of quarks and gluons.
