Early season skiing at Vail, served from Vail Village on Gondola One up to Mid-Vail. Fresh snow sat on top of the groomers today, and the snowmaking crews have been working nonstop to get more terrain open.
From Mid-Vail, I skied everything that’s currently available for early December:
• Avanti Chair (Chair 2)
• Mountain Top Express (Chair 4)
• Swingsville
• Ramshorn
• Meadows
• Lions Way
• Lodgepole Gulch
Snow quality was smooth and fast with a soft layer of fresh snow on the cord. It felt like classic early-season Vail—cold, crisp, and surprisingly good coverage for this time of year.
Food stop was at Buffalo’s at the top—always a solid mid-mountain spot early season.
At the end of the day, all traffic downloads, so I rode Gondola One back to Vail Village to wrap things up.
