Описание: Brother John Follette was born in 1883 and had a Methodist background, with studies at Taylor University & Drew Theological Seminary. However, following the Azusa Street Outpouring in Los Angeles in 1906, he received his Pentecost a year later in June 1907 while a student at the Rochester Bible Training school in Rochester, NY. (The RBTC became know both as the “Power-house of the East” and the “Slaughter-house of the East.”) Sometime later, Follette began teaching at the Southern California Bible College under the Assemblies. Brother Follette passed into the “heavenlies” in New Paltz, NY in 1966 with his friend and spiritual daughter, Hattie P. Hammond, by his side.

This message by brother Follette was recorded during one of his notable California Desert Retreats. It is entitled ”Behold, I Stand at the Door and Knock" and was from one of those 10 day Retreats which Follette tried to hold yearly in later life. This message was the 1st one given during a January 1958 Retreat on a Monday evening gathering, January 20, 1958 in a very informal setting.
The retreats were made up of a small group of 'choice spirits' (as Follette would call them) which had 'lived life some' and didn't have questions like where did Cain get his wife or who is the anti-christ?! I am blessed by these gatherings because it's like being spoken to by a spiritual grandfather!

For those interested in the early years of brother Follette Bible schooling, there is a book entitled "Chronicles of a Faith Life" written by Mrs. Elizabeth V. Baker in the early 1900's. It traces the founding of the Elim Faith Homes & the Rochester Bible Training Center of Rochester, NY.
