In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (TTYD), a badge run is a challenge playthrough where you equip and rely almost exclusively on badges—special items that cost BP (Badge Points) to use and grant abilities like extra damage (Power Plus), jumps/attacks (Power Bounce, Multibounce), status effects, defense (Damage Dodge), or risky high-reward moves (All or Nothing, Danger Mario setups).
Key rules/variants:
BP-only upgrades: Pump all level-up points into BP (instead of HP/FP), capping health/Flower Points low for max badges (~50-99 BP endgame).
Minimal/no HP/FP: Start fights in Peril (1 HP) or Danger (5 HP) for badge synergies.
Goals: Beat the game, clear Pit of 100 Trials, no-damage bosses, or collect/optimize badge loadouts.
