In this video we will discuss Type 1 (standard) Reel to Reel tapes - the tapes that started it all. We'll discuss all of the major brands and tape formulations that started it all, including, Scotch, BASF, Ampex, Audiotape, Sony, Soundcraft and others. Type 1 (Standard Bias) tapes were manufactured from the 1940s through the early 1970s. This is part of a series on a new Reel to Reel tape classification system developed by Reel to Reel Warehouse to help users of tape recorders and reel to reel recording tapes better select the right tape for their machine and application. This video will also introduce viewers to the new system we developed.
