1995-8/4/1996
Chuck E. Cheese started supporting PBS Kids. The first Chuck E. Cheese funding sponsor that aired on PBS Kids is the Chuck E. Cheese logo from the year on a purple paper-like background. Then on various background, the words in the slogan “Where a kid can be a kid” appear and animate in several ways.

Another Variant exists where the logo instead appears on a yellow background with strings. The way the words are formed are also different. A female voiceover is saying “Chuck E Cheese’s, where… a kid… can be… a kid!


8/5/1996-1997
On a sidewalk, a paintbrush draws Chuck E Cheese, the mascot of Chuck E Cheese’s. Multiple leaves then scatter past, taking the paintbrush with them, as the logo’s text wipes on-screen. Chuck E becomes animated and waves at the viewer. Then as the camera pans around the sidewalk, the words in the slogan appear in separate places and doing various actions. The word “where” is written in yellow just below the logo. “A” appears in blue next to a sewer as a green-and-white striped ball bounces by. “Kid” appears below in yellow, which begins to deform as paw prints pass by. The camera pans down to “Can” (“C” is light green, “A” is pink and lower case and “N” is green) just as a tricycle passes by, causing the letters to spin. It then cuts to the word “Be” in green, which begins to wave as the shadow of a kite appears. We then pan down to the second “A”, which is red. Then a drawing of a kid appears below in blue, as multiple pieces of grass form the hair. The kid then smiles. A woman and a child is saying “Chuck E Cheese’s, where… a kid… can be… a kid!”

On the show Wishbone, the music is instead a rock theme with a boy saying “Chuck E Cheese’s, explore the adventures of reading with PBS. Chuck E Cheese’s-Where a kid can be a kid”.

1998
The mascot Chuck E. Cheese is no longer seen on the logo, leaving only the text. The dialogue is changed to “Chuck E Cheese’s, family entertainment centers! Chuck E Cheese thinks learning is fun!”

There are live action clips. Then the Chuck E Cheese’s logo is seen on a bluish-white gradient background, but with only the text (colored red-orange-yellow gradient here). The text spins briefly, and two eyes appear as the logo becomes a smile.

There are live action kids on a sky background interacting with something. At the beginning and end, the Chuck E Cheese’s logo appears. A male announcer is saying “Chuck E. Cheese’s, proud supporters of PBS Kids.” Then the announcer says something related to the funding sponsor and ends with “PBS Kids, where a kid can be a kid.”
