In Islamic tradition, Israfil is an archangel who plays a key role in the Last Judgment. He is known for blowing a trumpet from the sacred Rock of Jerusalem to signal the Day of Resurrection and call all creatures to assemble. Israfil is named in the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, known as hadith, but not in the Quran. Some sources say that Israfil is the oldest of the four archangels, along with Michael, Gabriel, and Azrael.
