Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at an event in Jaipur, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has replaced the 160-year-old British-era criminal laws with three new legal codes aimed at transforming India’s justice system.
From 2027 onwards, anyone filing an FIR will be able to get justice within three years - up to the Supreme Court level.
Amit Shah emphasized that this major reform under the Modi government reflects a strong commitment to speedy justice, transparency, and accountability in the legal process.
These three new criminal laws - Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam- mark the beginning of a new era in India’s legal framework.
