WHY IS PROTEIN MOISTURE BALANCE IMPORTANT?

I learned about protein moisture balance a while back and the best explanation I found was from Naturallycurly.com:

"Establishing and maintaining a proper moisture/protein balance in our hair is vital to the success of any hair care regimen, and it is key to fighting hair breakage. With every hair product you use, it will tip your hair one way or the other on the moisture/protein balance scale. This article has some great information so make sure you go and read the rest but if you are struggling with breakage this is a good place to start. Try to find products that claim to moisturize and strengthen or hydrate and improve elasticity. Those are some key words to look out for. I will do this type of routine every other week to keep my hair balanced.

There are a few products that I use to keep my hair balanced but these are some of my favorites. They are affordable, the ingredients are decent, they make my hair feel soft yet strong, and they are accessible. These products are also dope because they don't contain super strong proteins so you can alternate it with your favorite moisturize routine or use them weekly. If you want to ease into Texture ID I suggest trying the Curl Clarifying Shampoo, Deep Treatment Masque, and the Intense Moisturizing Leave-In Conditioner first and I promise you will be hooked after that!
