Vulnerability in our society has a negative connotation. But what happens when we decide to lean into our vulnerability and see emotions as the purest form of ourselves, rather than the burdens we are conditioned to believe they are?
In her talk, Mariha shares her journey with depression and anxiety, and how she learned to accept, acknowledge, and appreciate her vulnerability for all its worth. Mariha Junaid is a junior at the College, majoring in Kinesiology and Health Sciences with a concentration in public health. She hopes to pursue a career in medicine after graduation. Outside of academics, Mariha is on the executive board of the Muslim Student Association, and is also involved with the Asian American Student Initiative, South Asian Student Association, and the Debate Society. Mariha is the proud cat mom to a 9-year old rescue named Wolfgang. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
