44th and Broadway in New York was the theater that hosted "Dick Cark's Beech-Nut Show" in 1958. Plus, a new sponsor, with this episode, kept the series on ABC for its run on Saturday night at 6:30 pm (CT) from February 16, 1958, through September 10, 1960. Originally called "The Dick Clark Show" the name of a once popular chewing gum "Beech-Nut" was added as a named sponsor.
This variety show mostly featured popular artists among the young, or semi-young, and was the lead-off musical program for Saturday nights that also included "Jubilee USA," "Lawrence Welk's Dodge Dancing Party," and "Sammy Kaye's Music from Manhattan."
The following season (1959-60) "Jubilee USA" was moved to fill the 9 pm (CT) spot following "The Lawrence Welk Show." The 7 pm-8 pm slot was filled by the now-forgotten "High Road" and the much better-remembered "Leave it to Beaver."
This series more than likely aired over Mid-Illinois on WTVP, WTVH, KTVI, and WDAN-TV.
