A Simple Way to Organize and Store Caulk & Adhesive Tubes - Ask Joe Handyman

Описание: Long, cylindrical caulk and adhesive tubes aren't the easiest items to store for later use. When stored vertically in a cabinet or drawer, they can easily seem more like bowling pins, all falling over every time you reach for a single tube.

Fortunately, Joe has a solution that uses materials you might just have on hand already. In this video, Joe shows how to turn 2-inch diameter PVC into a unique caulk and adhesive storage system. If you add in a couple of sleeves of 2-1/2 inch PVC, you can store a couple of caulk guns with the tubes.

This system is adaptable, so you can add as many tubes as you need. Joe chose to cut his tubes to just under 10-inches in length, to get a dozen tubes out of a single 10-foot length of PVC. As shown, Joe carefully cut the PVC with a miter saw, but it could easily be done with a hacksaw or PVC cutting tool.

After cutting the tubes to length, simply use primer and PVC cement to glue the tubes together into whatever grid shape you choose. Note that Joe used clear PVC primer and cement to make the system look a little cleaner, but standard colored primer and cement can also be used.

One could easily adapt this system to a single row of a dozen tubes to be mounted underneath a table top, but Joe chose a 4x3 grid to be placed on a shelf. Shorter length tubes would reveal the top few inches of the tube for more immediate identification of the caulk in the tube as well.
