Scottsdale Philharmonic performs Bach's "Little G Minor Fugue." Originally written for organ. Conducted by Robert Nichols.
Bach wrote the Fugue in G minor (BWV 578) known as the Little Fugue, during his years in Arnstadt, Germany (1703-1707). It was originally written for organ and was arranged in this version for orchestra, by Leopold Stokowski. This fugue is one of Bach’s most recognizable tunes. Leopold Stokowski (1882-1977) was a British conductor of Polish and Irish descent.
