TITHING: SIN OR BLESSING? NEW COVENANT GIVING | Kenneth E. Hagin–FIND FREEDOM
Is tithing a sin—or a blessing? In this dynamic teaching drawn from Scripture, we journey through the New Covenant lens to answer one of the most debated questions in the church. With the Bible open and hearts set on truth, you’ll see why giving isn’t bondage or manipulation, but a faith and love response to Jesus. This message (in the spirit of the classic faith teaching of Kenneth E. Hagin) moves beyond opinions and traditions to show you how the Word brings freedom, clarity, and joy to your finances—and your walk with God.
We begin by anchoring our hearts in God’s Word: “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17). Then we put on the New Covenant lens: love fulfills the law (John 13:34; Romans 13:10), grace empowers cheerful generosity (2 Corinthians 9:7), and our righteousness is in Christ, not in a percentage. You’ll discover how Abraham tithed before the law out of honor (Genesis 14), how Jacob vowed a tenth from gratitude (Genesis 28), what Malachi really addressed under the Old Covenant, and how the Cross redeemed us from the curse so we can live in the blessing of Abraham (Galatians 3:13–14).
From Acts to the epistles, the early church models spirit-led, systematic, and sacrificial generosity—without guilt or pressure. You’ll learn why giving is worship, how confession and stewardship protect your harvest, and why “whatsoever is not of faith is sin” (Romans 14:23) is the real measuring stick. We’ll walk through practical, doable models—like the 10–10–80 plan, growing your percentage, first-fruits priority, unity in marriage, and staying sensitive to the Holy Spirit—so you can build a lifestyle of consistent, joy-filled giving.
This message exposes extremes (“you’re cursed if you do” vs. “you’re cursed if you don’t”) and replaces them with balanced, Bible-grounded truth:
Christ is our righteousness; giving is our honor response.
We don’t give for righteousness or to buy blessing—we give from righteousness and blessing.
Seedtime and harvest still operate, but not as a gimmick—rather, as God’s faithful rhythm for increase in every area of life.
Authority over lack and fear belongs to the believer; stewardship keeps the increase.
Expect your faith to rise as you declare God’s promises over your house: “God is my source, grace abounds toward me, I have all sufficiency in all things” (2 Corinthians 9:8). Expect wisdom to guide your planning (Luke 14:28), diligence to shape your daily decisions (Proverbs 21:5), and peace to guard your heart (Philippians 4:6–7). And expect fruit to abound to your account as you partner with the gospel (Philippians 4:17).
If you’ve wrestled with tithing, offerings, or how to give under grace, this teaching will help you move from confusion to conviction, from pressure to purpose, from fear to faith—and into the cheerful, powerful generosity that marks New Covenant disciples. Watch to the end for declarations, a simple 90-day grace-giving roadmap, and a prayer of agreement over your finances. Jesus is Lord, the Word is true, and the blessing is working in you—today.
