Landour is a small cantonment town, 35km from Dehradun and 300m above Mussoorie. Landour is scenic and is home to impressive history, architecture and people.
Visiting Landour during monsoon is nothing less than a blessing because at this time, Landour is at its maximum form of beauty.
I drove from Dehradun and took the route from Jharipani, which is also a very beautiful road to drive through. After 2 hours of continuous driving, I finally reached to the place where you will definitely loose the track of time; Landour.
First thing that you will notice as soon as you reach Landour is
'Char Dukaan', a place where you can enjoy your delicious food with the heart warming surroundings and beautiful weather. 'Char Dukaan' is famous for its unique taste where Ginger Lemon Tea and Pancakes are must to try.
When Landour was established, originally there were only 4 shops in the whole area which gave it the name 'Char Dukaan'.

When you move a few kilometres from Char Dukaan, you will reach 'Lal Tibba', which is also known to be the highest point of Mussoorie. 'Lal Tibba' is basically a cafe with a rooftop sitting where there are binoculars through which you can witness the Himalayan range.

Landour is full of exotic cafes, some of which are:
Cafe De Landour
Cafe Ivy
Savoy Cafe

Now there is one major thing that makes Landour famous, is the
'Landour Bakehouse'
Landour Bakehouse is Known for its delectable pastries, cakes, and freshly baked bread, some of whose recipes are back from late 1890's.

So what makes Landour a perfect getaway destination for you, is it the beautiful weather, or the calming walks around nature, or it can be the exotic cafes or ginger lemon tea at Char Dukaan, well it also can be those delicious pastries of Landour Bakehouse or the foggy weather; you'll know when you will visit this place.
