Despite NMC having already declared nearly 300 acres of land in Tapovan as non-developable, large-scale tree cutting is reportedly being carried out in the name of Kumbh Mela preparations. This raises serious concerns.
When common citizens cut even a single tree, cases are immediately registered against them, but when such activities involve BJP leaders or politically backed projects, no visible action seems to be taken.
This apparent double standard in law enforcement undermines public trust and raises an important question:
Are environmental laws only meant for ordinary people and not for those in power?
We demand clarity, transparency, and equal application of the law, irrespective of political affiliation.
