Описание:
Cape Sundews (Drosera Capensis) try to eat bright green Long Legged Fly (Chrysosoma).
Cape Sundews are a carnivorous plant native to the Cape region of South Africa, renowned for its striking, dew-covered leaves and remarkable insect trapping abilities. Its long, narrow leaves are lined with red, glandular hairs that secrete a sticky mucilage, glistening like droplets of morning dew to lure unsuspecting prey. When an insect lands, it becomes ensnared in this adhesive trap, triggering the leaf to slowly curl around it and increasing contact with the digestive glands. Enzymes break down the insect’s soft tissues, allowing the plant to absorb essential nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus, resources often scarce in the nutrient-poor soils where it thrives.
