Описание: Cafe Racer Dreams has thrown down the gauntlet with #CRD124, a machine that exemplifies what a Café Racer could be like. By now, these types of bikes have become modern classics, recalling the essence of the English café racing culture of the 1960s that has marked several generations. Stripped of fairings, with low handlebars and a clean and classic aesthetic, these machines have sparked endless transformations and new models offered by various brands. CRD has gone a step further with #CRD124, known internally as “La Race”, both aesthetically and inside to produce a truly unique motorcycle.

As can be expected, there is little trace of the original 1981 BMW R100RS, only part of the chassis and the motor, which was disassembled and reconditioned piece by piece. To improve performance the bike was fitted with a set of GPR short pipes, trumpet velocity stacks, and Cerakote treatment on the top and float chamber of the carburetor.

Upfront the original telescopic forks were replaced with inverted Suzuki GSX-R 1000 forks and 4 piston Tokico radial calipers biting onto 320 mm disks. These were combined with Öhlins shock absorbers with a separate reservoir in the rear and a set of Dunlop Arrowmax tires. With these ingredients, the CRD124 is a great ride with the firm handling of a modern bike and responds to sporty driving in braking and turning.

One of the most eye-catching features is the front end, with a striking semi-fairing and round headlight. This required many hours of work, first to create the custom support for the fairing and the headlight and to adapt a methacrylate screen for the right fit. Like every good Café Racer, the 124 is fitted with totally adjustable Tomaselli semi-handlebars for a racing posture finished with Vans grips.

The driving posture is also determined by the Tarozzi footpegs, with more weight on the front end. When you take the handlebars you discover another special detail: the CNC machined yoke in Alzintok 75 aluminum, with a perfect finish and fitting the digital Motogadget Motoscope. This custom piece even has an aluminum bolt that covers the axis for a slick aesthetic look. CRD124 is also fitted with rearview mirrors with built-in indicators, another solution to give the front end of this machine the cleanest lines possible. The short front fender, following the look of the screen, is secured by CRD customized supports.

The décor recalls the battle colors of BMW, off-white and light blue, matching the logo of the brand with a darker chassis. The contrast is provided by the red cables of the spark plug connectors the leather tank pads and the seat. The seat is another special detail in the form of a solo seat cowl made with internal stressors to perfectly match up the pleats. The rear of this machine is finished off with a set of minimalist indicators and a short fender “made in CRD”. The latest customization by Cafe Racer Dreams is loaded with personality and when you see it live you’ll be captivated by its forms and décor. But to appreciate it to the full you’ll have to take it for a ride…
