This Ingraham mantel clock movement is dated 12 28 (December 1928) on the front plate. It has a strip deadbeat escapement in the front (a variation of this movement has a rear escapement). The deadbeat escapement makes the movement efficient, and allows it to run well even if not quite level.
This particular movement has bim-bam striking, and is in a tambour case. Similar movements were used in many Ingraham mantel clocks from around 1900 - 1940.
