“In partnership with Rising Stars Business Academy (RSBA), we are proud to highlight the success of one of our recent program completers, Omari White.

Before enrolling in the CalVIP program, Omari was a driven young man determined to provide for himself and his family. However, the work opportunities available to him were risky and ultimately contributed to a loved one’s incarceration. Omari knew he wanted more for his future—he just needed a second chance.

That opportunity came when he enrolled in RSBA’s CalVIP program, funded by the City of Moreno Valley to support violence intervention and prevention efforts in Districts 1 and 3.

Omari began by participating in a 4-week intervention course and soon expressed interest in pursuing his education. Since then, Omari has achieved remarkable milestones. He earned his High School Diploma, OSHA-10 Certification, NCCER Certification, and CPR/First Aid Certification. More importantly, he gained a network of caring, responsible adults he can turn to for guidance and support.

Today, Omari is taking time to reflect and prepare for his next steps. In his free time, he enjoys making music, using it as a creative outlet for expression and healing. He is proud of his growth and looks forward to being a beacon of hope for his family and community.

Omari is an exceptional young man. He leaves our program equipped with valuable skills and a renewed sense of purpose—ready to pursue both his personal and professional goals. He continues to receive follow-up services from our case management and support staff, with ongoing encouragement from our partners at the City of Moreno Valley.”
