CrossFireX is an intense South Korean-made first-person shooter (FPS) experience where players are immersed in a sprawling global conflict between the world’s two most formidable private military factions: Global Risk employs veterans of powerful armed forces who use advanced technologies to fight for order and security; Black List employs hardened mercenaries trained in guerilla tactics who fight to destabilize oppressive regimes in the name of freedom. Choose your side and complete objective-based missions across a variety of classic and innovative modes featuring tightly crafted gameplay and cinematic visuals

CrossFireX features two International Mercenary Forces, together in an epic global conflict. Players assume the role of either a Black List (terrorist) or Global Risk (anti-terrorist) mercenary, joining an online team that must work together to complete objective-based scenarios. CrossFireX was first announced in June 2019 in a Microsoft E3 briefing.

Powered by Unreal Engine 4, CrossfireX is being developed by Smilegate Entertainment, based in Seoul, South Korea, and have development partners including Remedy Entertainment to deliver a platform of rich experiences for Xbox players including a single player campaign, battle royale and competitive multiplayer.

Remedy Entertainment is currently working on the single player campaign which will run on a different game engine called "Northlight" while the multiplayer will run on Unreal Engine 4.
