Florida foreclosure attorney Steve Kramer explains what it means to be served in your case and how it can affect your foreclosure.
While under a foreclosure, you may be receiving a lot of papers in the mail or in person. To understand what being served is, you need to know the process. A person called a "process server" hand delivers you papers in which you are brought a summons and complaint against you. This is called being "served." Typically, anything that comes in the mail will not be a summons and complaint as there are very strict rules on how this is done. However, it is in your best interest to review any paperwork you receive in the mail with a lawyer if you have any questions or concerns. Watch the video now to learn more.
