If you’re planning a trip to the Pacific Northwest, don’t skip the tide pools—they’re one of the most incredible coastal experiences you can have. In this video, we explore the tide pools at Salt Creek Recreation Area, located just north of Olympic National Park along the Strait of Juan de Fuca in Washington State (marked as Tongue Point on some maps).
We visited during low tide, when the ocean pulls back to reveal a thriving ecosystem full of mussels, sea anemones, crabs, fish, starfish, and more. The area is easily accessible via a staircase that leads directly down to the rocky shoreline, just be careful and watch your step!
