This is a set of six children's pieces, composed in 1912 but first published in 1939. Titles and timings:
1. A mão direita tem uma roseira [The right hand has a rose] 0:00

This set of piano pieces for intermediate level learners resembles the music Villa-Lobos wrote in the 1930s for his 'Guia Pratica'. I do not know if they are based on actual children's songs and games, but the stylistic similarity is unmistakable. A particular musical hightlight is the second piece. Here and there we encounter piano writing which is somewhat awkward or hard to coordinate (the middle section of no.4 is not easy in this respect). Saci refers to a one-legged black prankster famous in Brazilian folklore. But I strongly recommend this lively, charming suite.
