These two waterfalls can be made as an itinerary to a one-day trip in Idukki. Anayadikuthu waterfalls has another name ” Aanachadikkuthu “. The name explains that when a herd of elephants were passing this waterfall, an elephant slipped in to the falls and was drowned to death.

Anayadikuthu waterfalls is located approximately 20 Kilometers from Thodupuzha, which is in Idukki district in kerala. There is one more waterfalls near by i.e Thommankuthu waterfalls which is famous and has an ecotourism center owned by Government of Kerala.

Please note there are a couple of ways to reach this amazing waterfalls. After enquiring with locals we found a newly laid road that took us to the narrow road through rubber plantations and scenic valley which ended up on the top portion of Anayadikuthu waterfalls.
Things to do in Anayadikuthu Waterfalls:
1, During monsoon this waterfalls seems majestic, a micro version of Athirappilly Waterfalls.
2, Best part is this waterfalls is safe to take a dip for even kids [ not in monsoon ]
3, Anyone can dive in and take a dip
4, Standing just below the waterfalls and felling the water force is a WOW ! feel.
5, Will surely suggest this place to have fun with family and friends.
Best time to visit :
We visited on a rainy day in second week of June 2018. Anayadikuthu Waterfalls was not completely full-fledged nor was it dry, rather had adequate water to have fun. Inquiring the local residents got to know that the waterfalls is dry during in summer ie: April and May and the best time to visit is beginning of monsoon. During heavy monsoon rain safety precautions has to taken and its risky too.
Be careful after reaching the top portion of waterfall. When water flow is less you may have a tendency to take shortcut and climb down the slope, its completely dangerous many people have got injured doing that stupidity. So better take the path that takes you near waterfall safe.
Please note that this waterfalls is yet to fall under tourist places in Kerala. So there are very few local residents nearby and other than that no one else is there to help you in an emergency.
